Behind the Scenes
How it began
The wall—once part of a stable—was cleaned with high-pressure washing and coated with a white base to begin the project. Days of painting life on Kurima Island, inspired by its nature, had begun.
Support from the island
Even under the scorching sun, encouragement came from residents along with gifts of Keitt mangoes and atemoya. Daily cheers of “Hang in there!” helped the artwork grow with the whole island’s support.
The moment of completion
On the final day, the village head presented a bouquet, and the mural was featured in the local newspaper. “Connecting to the Future,” filled with the island’s kindness, became a treasured piece welcoming many visitors to Kurima Island.
