Photo Session Flow
If you plan to hire a photographer for a paid photo session on Kurima Island, submitting a location-shoot application is required. Please review the application steps below.1. Review the Shooting Rules
First, please review the rules for location shoots on Kurima Island via the Google Form and submit it. The form includes guidelines on shooting manners, prohibited actions, and consideration for the local community. Shooting Rules Confirmation Form
Key Rules
When shooting, please understand the spirit of “Kurima Island is a village where everyone wants to live (Kurima Island Charter)” and be sure to greet and show consideration to residents.
- Prioritize consideration for residents and the environment
- Do not enter restricted areas
- Do not litter; if any waste is generated, take it back with you
- Do not conduct any shoots that violate public order and morals
- Drone filming requires separate government permission
- Limit shooting vehicles to one and park appropriately
2. Register as a Location-Shoot Vendor
Photographers and businesses conducting shoots must first complete vendor registration from the page below. Your registration details will be shared with the association and the local community association, helping streamline the application process and emergency contact if needed. Kurima Island has introduced a “Shooter Certification Program” to ensure safety and improve manners. To conduct a shoot, please complete the online training and test to obtain a certified armband.- Training fee: Individuals from JPY 4,500 / Corporations JPY 8,000
- A numbered certification armband will be issued (must be worn during shoots)
4. Submit Your Photo Application (Reserve Location & Date/Time)
After completing registration and training, you can apply for a shooting schedule through the system. Please check available locations and times, and submit your application at least 5 days prior to your preferred date.- Urgent processing (within 5 business days): +JPY 2,000
- Up to two locations are covered under the basic fee
- After your application is completed, a shooting permit will be sent by email

Attention
Important Notes for the Day of Shooting- Please carry your armband and shooting permit at all times
- Prioritize residents’ daily lives, and ensure thorough cleanup and restoration of the site
- In case of emergency, promptly contact the association or the local community association
